Solar Panel Installation in Trivandrum

Authorised V-Guard and Luminous dealer supplying and installing solar systems across Thiruvananthapuram district.

Soltech Power Solutions supplies and installs rooftop solar across Trivandrum — Thiruvananthapuram — covering homes, commercial premises and larger canopy structures. As an authorised dealer for both Luminous solar and V-Guard, we size a system to your roof and your load rather than to a single brand’s catalogue.

Alongside rooftop solar we supply the rest of the energy stack from the same team: home inverters, lithium and tubular batteries, solar water heaters and heat pump water heaters. One survey, one installer, one number to call afterwards.

Areas we cover in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram district runs from Varkala in the north down to Poovar on the southern coast, and inland to Nedumangad and the Ponmudi foothills. We survey, quote and install across all of it — the areas below are where we are asked to work most often, not a limit on where we go.

  • City and suburbs — Pattom, Kowdiar, Vazhuthacaud, Peroorkada, Vattiyoorkavu, Karamana, Thiruvallam
  • Technopark belt — Kazhakkoottam, Kulathoor, Sreekaryam, Kariavattom, Ulloor, Akkulam
  • Coastal south — Kovalam, Vizhinjam, Balaramapuram, Neyyattinkara, Poovar
  • North of the city — Attingal, Chirayinkeezhu, Varkala, Kadakkavur
  • Inland and highland — Nedumangad, Venjaramoodu, Aryanad, Vithura, Palode

What a Trivandrum roof usually asks for

Two things shape a quote here more than anywhere else in the state. The first is salt. Anything within a few kilometres of the coast — the Kovalam and Vizhinjam stretch, Poovar, the Varkala side — puts salt-laden air on the mounting structure and the fixings every day of the year. That makes the structure a specification question rather than an afterthought: what it is made of, how it is treated, and how it is fixed down.

The second is that the district has no single roof type. City properties are mostly flat concrete terraces, where the choice is between a flush mount and an elevated frame that clears a parapet or a water tank. Move out towards Nedumangad, Attingal or Neyyattinkara and tiled and sloped sheet roofs are far more common, which is a different fixing method and a different cost. Both of the installations listed above used elevated steel canopies, which is what those two sites called for — not what every site calls for.

On the paperwork side, net metering for an on-grid system in the district is applied for through your local KSEB section office. We handle the interconnection application and the approvals as part of the installation rather than leaving you to chase them.

What we supply in Trivandrum

What does a solar system cost here?

We do not publish a single figure, because a quote that ignores your roof is a guess. What actually moves the number is the system size in kilowatts, whether you need an on-grid or a hybrid system, the mounting your roof calls for, and the cable run from array to inverter.

  • System size — driven by your connected load and how much of it runs during daylight, not by roof area alone
  • On-grid or hybrid — batteries are the single biggest cost difference between the two
  • Mounting — a flush sloped-roof mount costs less than an elevated frame that clears a parapet or a tiled roof
  • Panel and inverter choice — TOPCon and Mono PERC differ in output per square metre, which changes how many you need

The site survey is free and carries no obligation. You get a written quote with the sizing, the equipment list and the expected generation, so you can compare it against anyone else on like-for-like terms.

How the installation runs

  • Free site audit — roof inspection, shadow analysis through the day, and a load study of what you actually run
  • Design and quote — layout, sizing, equipment list and expected generation, in writing
  • Installation — structural mounting, DC and AC wiring, earthing and surge protection, by MNRE-empanelled technicians
  • Net metering and handover — we coordinate the net meter interconnection and approvals, then commission the system
  • After-sales — annual maintenance handled by the same team, not a subcontractor

Comparing quotes from more than one installer in Trivandrum? Our guide to how to choose a solar company sets out the nine checks worth making before you sign - dealer authorisation, itemised quotes, mounting for coastal and monsoon conditions, and who handles service afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Our recent work includes elevated canopy installations at Kulathoor and Karamana, and we quote across the district. Trivandrum and Thiruvananthapuram are the same place — you will see both spellings used locally.

Yes. Both of our recent Trivandrum installations are elevated steel canopies rather than flush rooftop arrays — the structure carries the modules as a roof in its own right, so the space underneath stays usable for parking or a work yard.

That is what the shadow analysis in the free site audit is for. Shading is often solved by raising the array on a frame to clear a parapet, a neighbouring roof or palms, which is exactly what the elevated mounting on our Trivandrum jobs does.

Yes — V-Guard home inverters, lithium-ion and C10 tubular batteries, solar water heaters and heat pumps, all from the same team that does the solar.
