Not for an on-grid system. It powers your home directly during the day and exports the surplus for net metering credit, with no batteries at all - which makes it the least expensive option per kilowatt. The trade-off is that it shuts down during a grid blackout, for safety. If you want power to continue through an outage as well as a lower bill, that is a hybrid system, which changes over to battery in 10–20 milliseconds.
Your utility replaces the ordinary meter with a net meter, which records two things: the electricity you import from the grid and the surplus solar electricity you export to it. At the end of the billing cycle you pay only for the difference. We coordinate the net meter interconnection and the approvals as part of the installation.
Yes, with reduced output. Luminous TOPCon and Mono PERC panels are specified for superior low-light performance, so generation continues on overcast days rather than stopping. Heavy rain also washes salt and dust off the glass, which helps in a coastal district. For solar water heating, evacuated tube collectors absorb diffuse radiation, and an optional ISI-marked electric backup heater covers prolonged spells.
Lithium (LiFePO4) lasts up to 10,000 cycles against roughly 600 for traditional lead-acid, recharges in 3–4 hours instead of 10–12, and needs no maintenance. V-Guard C10-rated tubular batteries cost less up front and are built for long outages, delivering full rated capacity over a ten-hour discharge, with distilled water needed only once every 8–10 months. Short frequent cuts favour lithium; long monsoon outages on a tighter budget favour tubular.
Luminous solar panels carry a 12-year product warranty and up to a 30-year linear performance warranty, with NXi and NXIT grid-tie inverters covered for up to 8–10 years. V-Guard lithium batteries carry a 5-year warranty and are certified to UN 38.3 and BIS safety standards. After-sales service and annual maintenance are handled by our own team across Trivandrum and Kollam.
